Claude Is In Slack Now, Which Is Fine
Anthropic ships the native integration and quietly retires every custom webhook someone built last spring.
Claude in Slack, native, ten minutes to install. All those bespoke solutions became legacy infrastructure. This is how platform integrations are supposed to go and almost never do.
Anthropic dropped a native Claude integration for Slack today, which means all those bespoke solutions — the custom bots, the Zapier chains, the "just paste it into a DM" workflows — are now legacy infrastructure. Congrats to everyone who built one.
I installed it to our workspace inside of ten minutes. Set up the Slack connector through the claude.ai team account, pointed it at the right channels, and that was it. No API keys taped to a .env file. No one-person maintenance burden. Just Claude, in Slack, doing what it does.
This is how platform integrations are supposed to go and almost never do — the official thing ships and it actually works, so you delete your duct tape and move on. The fact that it felt surprising says something about how often that doesn't happen.
The custom solutions weren't wasted effort. They were load-bearing until today. Now they're not.
We're set up on the team account. The connector is running. Slack is still Slack.
